Welcome to the Carl Schmitt English Bibliography. This website is dedicated to documenting all the works by Carl Schmitt that have been translated into English. This site is designed to be up to date so if you see a work or a specific translation of a work is missing please reach out and I will try to update it as soon as possible.
While there are some other bibliographies of Schmitt that one can find online and in print, none are as extensive as this project in cataloging all works that have been translated, alongside every translation that exists of each work regardless if it's academically published or "amateur." The bibliography here is agnostic as to the importance of the work with the exception of letters and other very small works such as poetry. Additionally, the annotated bibliography section is organized by date the original work was published (or written in cases of large gaps between writing and publication) by Schmitt, not the year it was translated.
The simple bibliography page is structured more like a traditional scholarly bibliography would be, with works organized by date of the translation's publication.
The Carl Schmitt Gesellschaft contains a list of German books available by Carl Schmitt. They also have a bibliography of primary and secondary literature in various languages including Russian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Chinese, Persian and Turkish. I'm unaware how up to date their lists are.
To my knowledge the most extensive German bibliography for Schmitt is found in the opening pages in The Oxford Handbook of Carl Schmitt edited by Jens Meierhenrich and Oliver Simons. It attempts to include English translations when available, but it is incomplete and contains a few errors.
